Have your barrel machined for the installation of the coiled spring pin included with each Riflespeed Gas Control. Installation of the coiled spring pin is highly recommended for any defensive or tactical carbine. Pinning provides the most secure Gas Control installation possible.
This service is provided by Davidson Design Manufacturing, an experienced machine shop that has built custom tooling specifically to provide this service for Riflespeed customers. You’ll send your barrel to Davidson Design and they’ll return the barrel to you once the work is complete. We simply offer the referral to their service for the benefit of our customers.

Pinning the gas control is a good idea due to applied torque when the adjustments are made. And thanks to Rifle Speed it's easy. For a reasonable fee you can get it done in a very reasonable time. Davidson Design does a great job. So no looking for a gunsmith familiar with this service. It's right here.

Excellent work and communication
Eric was phenomenal both in the Machine Work pinning the barrel and his communication. Every time I called Eric, he knew exactly where my barrel was in the process without having to look anything up. You can tell this is a small company run by dedicated professionals who care about the work that they are doing. Buy with confidence in that you are getting work done by folks who will treat your rifle as if they were building their own for their family to shoot. Great Experience. I held off on my review because I wanted to shoot the rifle before writing one. 300 rounds of M80 ball thru a mid-length gas system Ruger SFAR with a Riflespeed gas block pinned by Eric. The rifle ran flawlessly and the gas block dialed for reliable last round bolt hold open at setting 8 unsuppressed. Could not be happier with the gas block and the work to pin it.

Turnaround varies from a couple days to a week or more based on shop workload. They're turned around as quickly as possible, though.

Hi, I have a 9" Aero Precision Atlas S-One handguard, with a 10" 300blk barrel. What I'd like to do is purchase one of your Riflespeed adjustable gas controls. Kyle mentioned you may be able to open a window on my current handguard to make that work. What would you charge for something like that? Or, should I just buy a new handguard?

Is the pinned system removable? Or should I send the handguard barrel nut installed on the barrel itself before sending it?

A:
You can do it a couple different ways. When you fill out your work order be sure to let him know what you’d like to do. He can only do the machining and you can do the rest or he’ll install the pin in the Gas Control for you. You’d need to send in your barrel nut for the second option.

We can do a touch up with cold blue and installation can be done by request. You’ll need to send in your barrel nut, etc. mention that on the work order form. Thanks

would this happen to match the BA barrel pins by any chance?

The BA pinned barrels we've evaluated have the pin positioned sightly rearward from the position we use. This allows Gas Controls to successfully be pinned in place since the new pin location has a shoulder to hold against. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.
