Q:I have a 9.5" barrel and an 8.25" handguard. When I did the fitment calculator, 8.25" handguard was a little to big, but an 8" handguard would work. My question as far as fitment goes, is the 1/4" from the handguard going to make a huge difference? Will it be that big of a determining factor as far as fitment goes? Please advise.

Q:I'm looking to run a Ballistic advantage 9" 300 blackout barrel with a stngr hwk 7", 7.5" or 8" rail. I'm wondering if yall have any recommendations as to which length rail I should get to be compatible with one of the rifle speed gas blocks. I wasn't coming up with anything compatible with the configurator but I do know this rail system does have some cut out area which would allow more access to the knob on the block.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Asked by: Matt
- 1/21/2024
A: With those cutouts you can use the length to the rear of the cutout instead of the overall length of the handgaurd. You can enter any custom measurement into the Configurator by clicking the small check box next to or above the field. That should let you see compatible configurations in green. You’ll likely land on the 7” handguard with an RS7533 but run your numbers to verify that. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

I tried to use your calculator but am not certain which size or sizes will fit these particular barrel and handguard uppers.

- The barrel on the second rifle is a 16' Faxton Big Gunner with a 15" handguard.

Regarding your .750 gas blocks, what is the OD of the control knob *after* the taper?(not the shortest model) Also, what is the length along the barrel of this taper from the gas block? I am asking regarding the possibility of fitting the knob under a reflex mount with ID clearance for either 1" or .95" (depending on which model I go with). I understand I will need to remove the suppressor for adjustments.

Asked by: David
- 9/21/2023
A: This will depend on the position of the Gas Control under the front of the handguard. If you;ll look inside the front of the handguard you'll notice that Aero only machines the first few inches of the handguard (look inside the top where the gas tube goes). As long as your Gas Control lands under that machined portion (likely with a rifle-length gas system) you'll be good to go.

Q:With a Criterion 12.5" Ultralight Carbine barrel and a CMT 9.5" rail, the configurator is telling me to use the RS7533. I want as little knob clearance past the edge of the rail as possible while still allowing for adjustment without removing the rail; based on that it seems like the RS7521 would actually work, but would only have about 0.25" of clearance. Is this an accurate assumption? I know you recommend 1" of rail clearance, but I want the minimum possible for hand adjustment.
Asked by: Spencer H
- 4/25/2023
A: The Configurator is set to allow a minimum or 0.4" of exposed Control Knob. You may be able to use a model with less exposure, particularly with the larger-diameter Control Knobs on the RS7519 and RS7521.

Q:I read the instructions and ensured only one groove was showing before installation. (I have a longer handguard and viewing is impeded after installation.) I took my set-up to the range for first try-out w/ suppressor. Started at 6 as recc in the manual. Moved down to 4, no issues. Moved down to 2, bolt was still locking back. Mved down to ONE: Bold still locked back. Is this normal? I wound up settling on 7 as the setting (based upon ejection being slightly aft of 3 O'Clock). Is this normal? Gas was still coming out of the ejection port and I could definitely smell it (first time shooting suppressed and expected this, but I'm not experienced enough to know if it's "normal" or "too much". My SOLE endpoint was the ejection as stated). QUESTION: Is going down to ONE and having the bolt still lock back normal? Is it possibly the buffer (H2) or spring (Carbine) that is out-of-order? Or is all this normal? Thank you for helping me out!
Asked by: Vandeen
- 4/12/2023
A: It is desirable for the carbine to function (indicated by last-round-bolt-hold-open) when suppressed between setting #1 and #4. Follow the setup instructions on the Tech Documents page. If you have proper function at setting #1 then you will be overgassed on setting #7.

Q:Hello,
I’m looking for some additional information on one of your products, specifically your RIFLESPEED Gas Controls adjustable gas blocks.
I would like to know the lengths of the four versions available. You have good information on the diameter of this product, but not
the lengths of each variant. If I could get the lengths for each measured from the front of the block to the end of the adj. knob,
that would suffice.
Best regards, Daniel

Q:Will the shortest version of this gas block fit on an 11.5 mid-length gas system without interfering with the theads or the shoulder of the barrel?
Asked by: Noah
- 3/24/2023
A: No.
9.3” (midlength) + 1.9” (RS7519) = 11.2”
11.5” - 0.6” (threads) = 10.9”
A 12.5” mid will work great with an RS7519.
Thanks,

Q:What gas block would fit a 18 inch barrel with a radian 17 inch hand gard
Asked by: Shane
- 3/13/2023
A: Shane, the 17" handguard on an 18" barrel will cover your Gas Control. You can use the Configurator here:
https://www.riflespeed.com/Choose-your-Gas-Control_ep_41.html to determine what handguard length would give you a solution. You can also window your handguard and use a 1.9" or 2.1" Gas Control through the window. That's becoming a very popular option and we'll have pics and info up in the Rifleblog about this soon.

Asked by: Reamis
- 2/28/2023
A: The 7" handguard covers nearly the entire 7.4" of barrel behind the threads so you have two options:
-Switch to a shorter handguard
-Window your current handguard and use one of the two shortest Gas Controls.

Q:By any chance do you know if the gas tube height on your .750 GB will be able to fit the Aero Prec. S One handrail. Current configuration has the GB exposed.
Asked by: Art
- 2/23/2023
A: We don't have an S-One here at the shop, but we do have customers who use the R-One successfully if the Gas Control is in or near the forward opening of the handguard. The gas tube rests in a straight line out of the upper receiver. With your gas block and tube removed you may be able to look into the front end of the handguard and verify clearance based on the receiver aperture.

Q:Hi, I am pinning a 13.7” Roscoe Purebred .223 Wylde with a Surefire flashider for Socom 5.56-I bought a 11” Strike Industries hand guard per the riflespeed calculator and it recommended either the RS7521 or the RS7533-what is the difference? Should I opt for one over the other? Thx
Asked by: Blaine
- 1/22/2023
A: With the 11” handguard you’d have just a small amount of the Control Knob exposed to grasp. That would work, but you may want to go with the RS7533 just for easier adjustment. It really comes down to aesthetics and how much of the Control Knob you want to see. We can always swap the Control Knob out if you don’t like the look.

Q:Is there a concern with fitment with the Aero Precision Atlas R-One handguards? Will it fit OK? Thanks
Asked by: Gene
- 1/10/2023
A: In some configurations where the Gas Control is near the end of the handguard, they will work. If the Gas Control is well under the middle of the handguard it will interfere. Aero doesn't machine the entire length of the inside of the handguard. This creates a potential fitment issue. You can look into the handguard from either end and see the unmachined area in the top part of the handguard. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Do u have any diagrams anywhere showing the dimensions? Thanks a lot!!!
Asked by: Gregory Chinn
- 11/1/2022
A: There are dimensioned drawings under the "Fitment" tab on the Gas Control page. The Atlas series from Aero is not compatible due to the incomplete machining in the gas-tube-channel area.

Q:What is the reason this gas block does not bleed off excess gas in any given setting? If this gas block doesnt bleed off excess pressure, wont my suppressed rifle blowback stay the same?
Asked by: Ryan
- 10/24/2022
A: Ryan, excess gas is vented behind the projectile when it exits the muzzle. The key to reducing blowback is to keep the bolt locked longer to allow the pressure to subside before unlocking occurs. The idea that an incredibly tiny "vent" in a gas block is going to reroute and "bleed off" gas that would otherwise go out either end of the barrel or down the gas tube, all of which are larger than the "vent" is hype, at best. With these resources you can try entering different handguard lengths to determine which models will work best for you. The 10.5" barreled carbine on the homepage is wearing a BCM MCMR8 handguard. Midwest Industries also makes a good 8" handguard that works well with the 10.3" or 10.5" carbines. You will need a straight carbine-length gas tube if your barrel uses a carbine-length gas system.

Q:Hello, I have a 11.5 Criterion SBR barrel that uses a carbine gas tube.
I plan on using a BCM MCMR-10 rail but it does state that the actual length of the rail is 10.5. When using your Gas Block Configurator, Inputting a 11.5 inch barrel, Carbine gas system, and 10 inch rail it shows that the RS7533 will work.
My only worry is that when I choose the 10.5 inch rail it shows nothing works.
Do you recommend I need a true 10 inch rail/ shorter rail or would the RS7533 work in this instance.
Thank you for your time, Dylan H.
Asked by: Dylan H
- 9/30/2022
A: Dylan, 10" is max for that setup. The extended ears on the BCM handguard will make it difficult to reach the Control Knob. An MCMR9 would be a good solution that won't require that you remove the barrel nut.

With 13.4" handrail which gas block will fit my setup

A: The most certain way to verify fitment is by entering the measurements of your setup into the Configurator found on the "Chose your Gas Control" page here:
This will let you enter various configurations and receive color-coded results showing what works. The most common issue that prevents fitment is handguard length. Q:Can this be used on a rifle length 5.56 mm both on NORMAL MODE and COMPLETELY CLOSED OFF just by turning the adjustment? Or are the two too far apart? Thanks!
Asked by: Keith Mumble
- 8/10/2022
A: Gas Controls are completely modular so you can select the amount of restriction you want by choosing a Plunger size that accomplishes what you want. You'll need to work with your configuration, ammo, suppressor to determine which Plunger does what you want. Gas Controls are not designed to shut off gas with supersonic loads as there is no reason to do this, but you can select a Plunger that will prevent the bolt from unlocking if that's what you want to do. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q:Your product won’t fit my hand guard/barrel combo. 9” hand guard, 10.5” barrel and pistol length gas port. If I mill away windows on my hand guard (because I don’t want to get a shorter one right now), so that my finger tips can get to opposite ends of the device, will I have enough strength to turn and adjust the gas port? Basically, how hard is it to turn the device?
Asked by: Pete
- 8/9/2022
A: That's doable. The Control Knobs are intentionally hard to turn, but not so much that you can't do what you're describing. I'd recommend the RS7519 so you'll have a larger diameter COntrol Knob to turn.

Q:I have a Sith&Wesson MP10 stock 16" barrel with a Saker suppressor, what adjustable gas block will work?
Asked by: Jeff Peterson
- 7/13/2022
A: Without having your carbine here in hand to measure, the best way to determine fitment is for you to use the Configurator found here:
Enter the measurements of your carbine & you'll get color-coded outputs showing what works. The most common issue is handguard length. You can adjust that number until a solution appears in green if necessary. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q:I really like the idea of your gas system but I run a high temp Inconel carbine gas tube rated for 1800F and really don't want to give that up.
Is there any way to make your gas control system work with a dogleg carbine length tube?
This Inconel gas tube is already thicker and requires it to be installed to the gas block then slid back into the upper receiver hole to fit anyway.
Asked by: MD Froman
- 6/20/2022
A: Straight gas tubes are required. Straight gas tubes are more durable than bent gas tubes and mitigate heat-related gas tube issues. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q:Running a Daniel Defense MK18, with a BCM M-Lok hand guard. I tried using the tab to figure out which block I would need but it said nothing would fit. Wondering if I did it wrong? These look awesome and I’d love to run one for my duty rifle (police officer/SWAT).
Asked by: Joshua Sonney
- 6/6/2022
A: The most common issue is handguard length. If your handguard covers the entire barrel then you wouldn't have access to make adjustments by turning the Control Knob. With Mk18 configurations there are two options. #1 keep your 10.3"/10.5" barrel and switch to a shorter handguard. #2 keep your handguard and switch to an 11.5" barrel. With an 11.5" barrel you can run an RS7533 Gas Control. This is one of the best setups available and what we advise customers running short carbines. An 11.5" is noticeably more consistent and smoother. The extra inch of length is negligible with respect to the handling characteristics of the carbine. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q:Do you think a fortis night rail on a .750" gas journal will have enough clearance on this?
Asked by: Miguel

A: Miguel, most low profile handguards have plenty of clearance. We don't have a Fortis Night Rail in the shop to check, but we do have dimensioned drawings under the "Fitment" tab on the Gas Control page here at riflespeed.com that can help you determine your fitment. From what I can see on their website, the Fortis will be a great fit.

I'm useing aero s-one and kansa handguards by kaw valley.
The kansa has a 1.6 min height spec inside the handguard. Cant remember what the aero s-one handguard min height spec is at the moment. Really want to try out your companys gas block but need some size specs before purchasing.
Asked by: Clinton Andrus
- 5/7/2022
A: Clinton, we have dimensioned drawings for the Gas Controls under the "Fitment" tab on the Gas Control page. I can tell you for sure that the Atlas S-One won't work, though. The lowered center section doesn't allow enough room for the gas tube or Gas Control. Check out the Cross MachineTool HDM, DRT, and UHPR rails we offer for good options or others like the Midwest Industries Combat Rail or G4. All of the Geissele rails we've tried have fit as well. Q:Will the RS7543 behind a pin and welded 14.5 unscrew far enough to disassemble and replace plungers if desired?
Asked by: Brandon Williams
- 5/2/2022
A: No, you'll need to determine the Plunger you want to use before you pin & weld if using an RS7543. With an RS7533 you would have room to swap Plungers. Since Plungers outlast barrels it is generally unnecessary to change Plungers, however. Email us at [email protected] and we can help you with initial setup once you have your parts in hand. Q:I have a 10” barrel with pistol length gas system with 9” handguard. I stumped the configuration tool… any suggestions.
Asked by: Bob
- 4/28/2022
A: The configurator is set to allow a minimum of 0.4" of exposed Control Knob. Your handguard is likely too long to allow this. Try entering different handguard lengths (select the checkbox to enter a custom measurement) and you can determine what length handguard you'd need to have adequate clearance. Q:With the plunger rod that comes supplied with the RS7533 does the gas get shut off completely when it is adjusted all the way closed?
Asked by: Kerry
- 4/23/2022
A: Each Gas Control currently comes with two Plunger sizes. On some configurations and chamberings the bolt will remain locked upon firing with one of these two Plunger sizes. Many 300BLK shooters use the #937 Plunger for this (included size) with subsonic ammunition. They can then dial back up to a higher number to cycle again. Some other configurations will use a longer Plunger like the #947, #957, or #967. There are many variables that affect which Plunger you'll need to select for this application including; port size, port position, ammunition used, suppressor used, bore, reciprocating mass, etc. Gas Controls are not designed to prevent unlocking with supersonic ammo, though that may be possible in some configurations as well. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q:I am looking into buying an “ar-10” style rifle in 308 win. I have been looking at Sig 716i, aero precision M5, and Savage MSR10. I use a 762SD can from AAC. Do you know if your gas block works with any/all of these without modifications? Any other 16in barrel upper or complete rifle under $2000 you suggest?
Asked by: Ryan
- 3/25/2022
A: Gas Controls will work with any direct-gas AR with the appropriate journal diameter. We currently offer .750" diameter models, but .625" and .875" models are coming. You'll need to verify fit with your handguard as well (dimensions under "Fitment" tab on product page). That's much less of an issue with large-frame ARs, though. We have an M5 as a test rifle in the shop that works great. We'll also have complete 308 uppers added to the site as soon as the final components arrive. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed!

Q:Hello I have a 16 inch barrel and 15 inch handguard I do see that this is not compatible however looking at the chart I see if I use a mid length version and the rs7558 the adjustable knob will be at the end of handguard not sticking out by your measurement however I do not mind as it doesn’t seem like I won’t be able to adjust just won’t be as easy. Will this still be okay ?

Q:Hello, do you know if this will fit inside a rock river lar15. I’ve looked at the dimensions of my gun and your spec sheets and it looks like it’ll be pretty tight. I just thought I’d ask before I order being RRA is a pretty popular brand you might have looked into this before? Thankyou!
Asked by: Nick creek
- 3/24/2022
A: We have not looked at that specific model, bt we have used other RRA models successfully. As long as the inside of the handguard is 1.225" or larger and the gas tube area is fully machined inside (almost all are) you should be good to go. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Asked by: Mitch
- 3/18/2022
A: They come with set screws, a cross-pin and a pre-drilled hole for the cross-pin. You'll need to have your barrel cut for the cross-pin if you choose to go that route. It's optional, but recommended for defensive/tactical use. See the "Barrel Ponning" page here on the website for more info on that. Thanks

Q:I have a 10.5 Ruger AR pistol. It has a carbine length gas system and a 9 inch handguard. The riflespeed fitment calculator said none of the gas block sizes would work. However, I'm semi-confident the shortest version of the riflespeed GB would fit with just enough sticking out from under the handguard to make adjustments??? Please advise, thank you.
Asked by: Blake Rutherford
- 3/18/2022
A: The Configurator allows for a minimum of 0.400" of exposed Control Knob (the numbered part you turn). You'll have less exposure than that, but the Gas Control will still work as intended. Adjustments won't be quite as easy, though. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Asked by: Gabriel

Asked by: Frenzied

A: With a 12.5" barrel you'll need a handguard that's 11" or less in order to have enough access to easily make adjustments. The 11.5" handguard will cover the Control Knob. The Gas Control will work fine, but adjustments would be more difficult.

Q:Will the rifle speed gasblock work under a ris II DD rail
Asked by: Richard
- 2/19/2022
A: Richard, we don’t have a RISII in the shop to use for verification, but we do have dimensioned drawings under the “Fitment” tab on the Gas Control page that you can use to compare to your handguard. The Gas Controls fit under most slim handguards down to 1.25” inside diameter. We’ve used smaller, but 1.25” is a good rule that gives you some clearance. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q:It would be helpful if you would have total length for the adjustable gas blocks so we can see how it would fit under the hand guard.
Asked by: Alex
- 2/17/2022
A: We have a detailed dimensioned drawing showing the placement of each Gas Control length on the four main gas system lengths on the “Choose your Gas Control” page. The last two digits of each model number represent the assembly length. The Configurator on the “Choose your Gas Control” page will give you minimum and maximum Fitment length that allows you to determine how much Control Knob will be exposed beyond your handguard. Q:If your gas block is installed on a barrel with a pin and welded muzzle device, is there enough room to change out the plunger without having to have the muzzle device removed?
Asked by: Mark
- 2/1/2022
A: Mark, this is an excellent question. The answer will depend on your specific setup. Some configurations have more than enough room to swap Plungers without pulling the muzzle device. In some configurations where the fit is close you can add a small spacer behind the muzzle device to have enough room. In others, the muzzle device would need to come off. The good news is that once initial setup is complete, you can maintain your Gas Control without disassembly for many thousands of rounds or until it's time to replace your barrel. We cover the maintenance options in the Maintenance Instructions Document on the "Tech Documents" page at riflespeed.com. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed & let us know if you have additional questions.

Q:One of the reviews are saying it doesn’t fit with the aero atlas r one hand guards which I have. I really want this but could you verify some how if this is true. Thanks
Asked by: Gavin
- 1/31/2022
A: Unfortunately, the Atlas R1 handguard has a restricted portion in the center of the rail where the clearance is limited. If your Gas Control falls under that part of the rail you'll have issues without rail modification. If your Gas Control is placed closer to the end of the handguard then it should fit fine. You'll need to evaluate your specific setup. The dimensioned drawings under the "Fitment" tab on the Gas Control product page will provide specific measurements for your reference. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed!

Q:Love the concept of this gas block, I'm looking to run a "tucked" setup. Mega Arms MKM 12" hand-guard with a 10.5" barrel + Cherry bomb + Whistle-Tip or Saker up front. Would it possible to adjust the gas block settings through the slots in the hand guard. In other words can I use a bullet tip or something to adjust the gas while under the rail? Thanks in advance for the info!
Asked by: Mike
- 1/29/2022
A: The detents are purposely designed to be difficult to turn. This prevents accidental adjustments. You may be able to use a cartridge in a tucked application, but it will be somewhat difficult by design. You may be better off having the vent holes in the handguard enlarged to allow finger access from the sides.

Q:I have looked at the charts and an not seeing the info I need. Is there a fit for midlenghth gas tube and 15" hanguard?
Asked by: Rick
- 1/29/2022
A: Rick, with a 16” mid-gas barrel the longest handguard we recommend is a 14.5” in order to have good access to make adjustments. Midwest Industries offers the G4 and the Combat Rail in 14" and they have worked very well for us. If you need to keep your 15" handguard then the RS7558 is the best fit, but please understand you will only have a small amount of the Control Knob exposed to grasp. What is the maximum gas tube hole size on a barrel that this gas system can accommodate? What do you recommend for a 8" 300blk set up for subsonic?
Asked by: Neil

A: Gas ports up to 0.115" are supported. With an 8" 300BO you'll want to run somewhere in the neighborhood of 0.105"-0.112" depending on several factors. With a Gas Control installed there's little downside to a larger port, though. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed!

A: With a 10.5" pistol-gas barrel you can run an RS7543 with an 8" handguard. To evaluate other configurations, hit the "Choose Your Gas Control" link at the top of the site. There you can enter the measurements of various combinations of components and see what works. Gas Control model numbers that fit will be displayed in green. Models that do not fit a given configuration will be shown in red. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed!

Q:Any chance we can see custom lengths? I’m looking for a 3.9”-4” length. I have a Midwest industries 11.5 handguard with a 6.5 Grendel lilja barrel. It’s a 12.5 but Lilja measures the barrel extension as well so it’s more like a 12”. Really like your solution for adjusting gas with no tools, currently using superlative adjustable gas block, and I have to take my can off to adjust it, I had the gas too light the other night and I was hog hunting, it was a single shot :(
Asked by: Reid Averill
- 12/29/2021
A: Custom lengths are not an option at the moment, unfortunately. It would be much less expensive to purchase a shorter handguard. The Cross Machine Tool HDM 10.5 and DRT 10.5 are excellent options that are reasonably priced and may work for you. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed & let us know if we can answer any other questions.

Q:Would this item work with a criterion 12.5" .750 gas block under midwest industries 11.5 handguard (MI-CRM11.5)?
If so, which model do I need to purchase here? Thanks,
Vlad
Asked by: Vlad
- 12/24/2021
A: An 11.5” handguard on a 12.5” barrel won’t give you as much exposure for your Control Knob as we’d like. You can do it, but adjustments will be more difficult. A 10.5”-11” handguard is ideal with a 12.5” carbine-gas barrel.

Q:I have an Aero build with a 10.5" criterion barrel, a 9" Atlas handguard, and a Griffin Armament taper mount muzzle device. I did the fitment guide and it shows none of the gas controls will work with this setup. Is that correct? Doesn't look to be a lot of room between the handguard and the muzzle device.
I also have an ADM build with a 12.5" barrel and 10.75" handguard. The fitment guide says a RS7915 will work. Is that correct?
Thanks! Just want to make sure before I make a purchase.
Asked by: Kevin McAdams
- 12/2/2021
A: Kevin, the 9” handguard will cover most of the Gas Control, but it is doable. You can see what an 8” handguard looks like on the homepage of the website. There’s a pic of a 10.5” carbine with a BCM MCMR8 handguard between the picture of the FDE upper and the OD Green rifle on a bipod. That will give you a way to develop an idea of what your 9” setup will look like.

Q:What is the minimum hand guard id that will accommodate the gas control? Will the atlas S-one or R-one from aero precision work?
Asked by: Caleb
- 11/28/2021
A: The Atlas R-One and S-One have a lowered center section that prevents clearance. We've used handguards with an inside diameter as small as 1.225" (Midwest Night Fighter) with success. Most slim handguards are around 1.3" inside which fits easily. Check the "Fitment" tab on the Gas Control Product page for a dimensioned drawing that can be used to verify handguard fit.

Q:Dear Madame/Sir,
I would like to inquire if your adjustable gas block can be installed on CMMG Resolute MK47/Banshee MK47 with 16" and 10-1/2" barrels and used with existing handguards?
Asked by: Nico
- 11/10/2021
A: Nico, the best way to determine fitment is to enter the measurements of your configuration into the interactive Configurator tool on the "Choose Your Gas Control" page. You'll get color-coded results showing which Gas Controls fit your firearm. In the event that no models are shown to be compatible, the most common issue is with handguard length. You can enter different values into the "Handguard Length" dropdown to see what would work. If that's the case for you please email [email protected] with your measurements and we'll make some suggestions. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed!

Q:I have a BCM 11.5 barrel with a BCM 10 inch mcmr rail but it's 10.5 to the flare I'm sure you no what I am saying will your gas block work with this build? Thanks
Asked by: Bullet
- 11/8/2021
A: The RS7533 Gas Control will work if your gas journal is 0.750” diameter. The length of the MCMR10 handguard won’t provide as much access to the Control Knob as we’d like you to have, but the Gas Control will definitely work. The MCMR9 provides more than enough access if you wish to change handguards in the future.

Q:Will this fit inside a Timber Creek Handguard? The TC Handguard calls for a low profile gas block for it to fit according to their website.
Asked by: Steven Cha
- 10/29/2021
A: Riflespeed Gas Controls fit under most slim handguards. We have a dimensioned diagram under the “Fitment” tab on the product page showing the measurements of the Gas Controls that you can use for reference when determining handguard fit. We’ve used slim handguards with inside diameters as small as 1.225” successfully.

Q:i recently purchased a PSA GEN3 PA10 18" MID-LENGTH .308 WIN 1/10 STAINLESS STEEL 15" LIGHTWEIGHT M-LOK STR SSA-E RIFLE. Does your gas control work with their setup and which one do you recommend.
Thanks, Eddie
Asked by: EddieF
- 10/22/2021
A: Eddie, thanks for your question. While the Gas Control would work with your carbine, the 15” handguard would cover up the Control Knob completely. This would make it more difficult than we’d like to make adjustments. With a mid-length gas system the RS7543 works with up to a 13” handguard and the model RS7558 works with up to a 14” handguard.

Asked by: Nic

A: Yes, the MCMR works great with Riflespeed Gas Controls. The 10.5" upper shown on the Riflespeed.com homepage and in the product images of the Gas Control product page is wearing an MCMR8. That's a great option for 10.3" - 10.5" builds. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q:Are you folks going to make an option that fits folks with mid length gas, 16" barrel and 15" handguards in the future? I'd really like to get one of these on my DDM4V7. ??
Asked by: Benjamin Knoerle
- 10/21/2021
A: Benjamin, this a great question and one that comes up often. The issue with your configuration isn't the Gas Control, it's the length of our handguard. The 15" handguard covers so much of a 16" barrel that it is difficult to access the Control Knob. It CAN be done, but making adjustments will be more difficult than we'd like. A 14" handguard offers plenty of access to easily make adjustments. If you don't mind having the Control Knob nearly tucked under the 15" handguard then the model RS7558 is the solution. Thanks for your question.

You’ll need to confirm or re-zero your carbine after installing your Gas Control to insure that your point-of-aim and point-of-impact are aligned. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.
