Q: I have a ballistic advantage hanson performance 11.3" barrel an d a midwest industries 10.5" combat rail. What length gas control should I get? Thanks!

Asked by: David Sobrito - 12/20/2023

Q: RS6221 Would this fit on a carbine gas system with a 10.5 barrel and 9.5 handguard. The images make it look pretty close. I think I can shave 1/8th inch off the handguard if necesaary.

Asked by: George Rivosecchi - 11/25/2023
A: Assuming a .625" diameter gas journal, you may be able to use this configuration. You'll have less than the desired 0.5" of exposure for your Control Knob, but we do have many customers with similar configurations.

Q: Hi. Will the 0.625" gas block fit under the Rock River Arms Mountain Rifle handguard? They have a really small ID, but I can't find specs on it. They also use a straight gas tube. Thanks!

Asked by: GMoney - 7/25/2023
A: Check out the dimensioned drawings under the "Fitment" tab on the Gas Control pages. If they use a straight tube already then you'll likely be fine.

Q: I'm looking at building a 16" midlength (0.625" barrel diameter) upper with a 14" handguard (Midwest Industries G4 if that matters). I don't have the parts yet, so I'm hoping you can recommend a length for a gas block. Can you tell me which length I'd want?

Asked by: OK - 3/1/2023
A: The RS7558 will be perfect for that setup (assuming a 0.750" diameter). Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

Q: I have an 18" Criterion Core Barrel .625" with the rifle length gas system. I have the ADM 17" handguards and the RS6243 will end flush with the handguard and not stick out at all. Will this be a problem to adjust? I already have one of these on a different 18" barrel with the 15" handguards and it works great.

Asked by: Paulo Santos - 2/21/2023
A: While it isn't ideal, we do have many customers that run Gas Controls flush or nearly so as you describe. Another option is to use an RS6219 or RS6221 and window the handguard. Contact support@ and we can provide pictures of this. Thanks!

Q: I have heard that the OD for the 0.625” gas blocks and the 0.75” gas blocks are the same at 1.19”(I wish they were smaller for the 0.625”). I am concerned that this may BARELY fit underneath my BCM MCMR 9(9.4” total length to the flare) because it has a ID of 1.30” so I will only have 0.055” of clearance all the way around and this is ONLY if I can get the rail PERFECTLY centered around the barrel. Are your gas blocks working fine on ARs with BCM rails? I saw an MCMR 8 rail with a 10.5” barrel on your website with the 1.9” gas block, but it was not really underneath the rail all the way and the area that is 1.19” seemed to be outside of the rail. I have seen some of your gas blocks installed on Geissele MK16 rails and they only have 1.25” IDs but that is not much clearance. Thanks for your help. -Tony Cinelli

Asked by: Tony Cinelli - 2/5/2023
A: MCMR handgaurds work great with Gas Controls.

Q: How much do your gas blocks weigh? 0.625” vs 0.75” weights”? Weights with different length control knobs? I don’t need to know the weight with the gas tube though. Thanks again.

Q: What type of metal is your adjustable gas block made out of? I’m looking to put one on my criterion core 13.9” barrel, and I’m hoping the material is similar to the material my barrel is constructed of. Also, my 13.9” barrel with a midlength gas length system will be paired with a 13” Vltor freedom rail, and when I enter the data in your configuration tool nothing shows as compatible. I figured I’d just use the shortest model and adjust it with the handguard off, but would a different length be close to adjustable with the handguard on? Thank you!

Q: does the gas block have a higher profile than a normal low profile gas block? if it does have a higher profile. what handguard fit?

Asked by: jonathan myott - 1/27/2023
A: The body is slightly taller than some gas blocks. The only known handguards with fitment issues are the Aero Atlas series and some older PRI round handguards where the Picatinny rail fasteners protrude inside the top of the cylinder. All others are fine.

Q: How do I know what model number goes with which gas block. you have 4 models of gas blocks and five different model numbers. I am going to continue to keep shopping till I get an answer or find a better website

Asked by: David L - 1/19/2023
A: David, we have three diameters with six lengths for each diameter. The model numbers correspond to those diameters and lengths.

RS7519 = -.750" diameter and 1.9" length

Q: Hi There. Looking at your adjustable gas blocks. I have a 11.3" (BA with .625) barrel and a 10.3" Aero Atlas S-One handguard. Can you recommend one of your adjustable gas block that would work if any? Thanks!

Asked by: Brandon - 9/19/2022
A: The Atlas series of handguards is incompatible due to the lowered center section of the handguard. Check out or assembled uppers and build parts for some ideas on suitable configurations. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.

A: Barrel centerline to top of Gas Control Body is 0.940". Dimensioned drawings are available under the "Fitment" tab on the Gas Control pages. The .625" and .750" are the same height.
